Parajumpers was born in 2006 in Italy, when Massimo Rossetti, until then an importer of American brands, met a member of the 210th Rescue Squadron in Alaska: the parachute rescue unit whose motto is "That Others May Live". From that meeting came the idea of a garment able to withstand what they withstand. That origin explains the brand's functional details: the yellow signalling loop on zips and hooks, designed to locate the garment in the dark; the removable metal hook copied from a parachute quick-release buckle; and the large cargo pocket inspired by a firefighter's jacket with room for a helmet. The patch bearing the 210th Rescue Squadron motto completes an identity born from rescue rather than the runway.
