From the Monza workshop to Olympic gold

In the 1930s and 1940s, Colmar began experimenting with technical materials and became a supplier to the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI). The decisive breakthrough came in 1952, when Zeno Colò won Olympic downhill gold at the Oslo Games wearing a Colmar jacket with two-way stretch tulle panels, invented by Irma Colombo, who introduced the elastic nylon typically used in corsetry into the sides of the garment: the first aerodynamic production ski jacket. The house even tested its garments in the Fiat and Moto Guzzi wind tunnels to refine their aerodynamics, and in 2016 it launched, together with Directa Plus, the world's first graphene sportswear collection, the Graphene Plus line.
